In May of this year, 92 Chow dogs were seized from a Lancaster county home and taken to several temporary locations for shelter. Many of the dogs were suffering from various ailments including but not limited to parasites, skin and ear infections and one was said to have been picked up by this rescue person with injuries suffered from a vehicle collision.

Vets and shelters have provided emergency care for these dogs but the time has come where they need to be adopted to their forever homes and the bills for their recovery have to be paid.

Now that our Amazee fundraiser is completed, an auction will also be set up with many really impressive and 'in demand' artists' pieces being offered.

We will keep you posted on the auction progress as it happens.

    Sincerely,
    Christine Farnell, project founder

    VIDEO RECORDED IN MAY 2009

This is a video of the actual seizure. Even though most of these dogs are now doing well, it is still horribly upsetting to watch, but their story needs to be told.

This is a Video journal of Zaccia, whom the shelter could not identify and called him Snuggles.

First time we took him out of his kennel at shelter. He was quite bewildered and there was only one spot on his side that wasn't matted or raw and infected  where he could be touched.

This is the day we realized that Snuggles was actually Zaccia

This is Zaccia now - with a spring in his step and a smile on his face

Fred with Zeke (called Mufasa in Lancaster) at Doggy Day Care (at boarding Kennel)

And at a Meet and Greet - It should be noted that when first seized fthe homei,  Mufasa (the yellow Chow/Lab) was considered unadoptable because he appeared to be both dog and people aggressive.. Once he had time to shake the awful experience out of his system... well, the video speaks for itself

A HEARTFELT THANK YOU FROM WORLDCHOW

A special heartfelt thank you to the HUMANE LEAGUE OF LANCASTER COUNTY, as well as all the volunteers who selflessly put in countless hours, and many times drove half a day to get to these dogs to help groom and assess these 92 Chows.

The volunteers are not compensated, and spent days up to their elbows in dirty dog coat and feces and putting themselves at times in a dangerous situation to comfort and groom a number of the dogs who were in discomfort and fearful of what was happening to their lives.

You are all champions to our breed and there are not enough words to express thanks on behalf of our beloved Chows. Please give them their dignity back!!!.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF THOSE BEAUTIFUL SOULS WHO DIDN'T SURVIVIE THE ORDEAL...CLICK THUMBNAILS...SOME ARE QUITE GRAPHIC

Desko is one that we had to put down due to health issues. We tried so hard to help him. This one was heartbreaking for everyone. Merlin - Unfortunately was to aggressive. We worked and worked with him as did the shelter but we just couldn't save him... Verushka - Again, due to aggression issues he was humanely euthanized. NAME UNKNOWN..this dog was nicknamed "wafer chow" ...there was nothing to him the poor dear NAME UNKNOWN...bless your soul dear one
