The Reasons, the Proposal and What You Can Do

    1. Domestic news services have proven themselves to be repetitive and sensationalist, (or a combination of the two) and have created discontent with their broadcasting policies. These allegations will be discussed below.

    2. American customers are fed up with having to listen to the same stories over and over again that simply don't have any true relevance to their lives. Stories that should be left for the gossip tabloids are constantly being broadcasting as significant news events when they simply don't have any implications for those who are forced to learn about them thanks to their constant discussion and advertisement by the news organizations.

    3. At the same time, these stories are often blown out of proportion. They are customized to look like they could "happen to anyone", when in reality they may be a simple unusual incident that may never repeat itself.

    4. International events are becoming more important to Americans. Due to politics, economics and social changes, Americans simply cannot afford to miss out on these events that could have truly global implications.

    5. Many news services have refused to pay attention to this trend. They insist on airing stories that aren't important, and only get viewers because they are sensationialized. By doing so, they are "dumbing down" the unknowing viewer and are limiting consumer choices.

    The Proposal:

We therefore propose that the Cable and Satellite industry of the USA add BBC World News to their channel line-ups. With more than eighty years of expierence, this organization has the most skill and expertise as a news provider. They are fully committed to all current events of importance, regardless of where they are occuring.
