I've just found Amazee and it seems a pretty good jumping off point for an idea I've had for sometime.
Some background first - I'm an ex-professional musician (I stopped when I was 35 to count money) who has recently started playing again (drums & percussion). I am also a long time Europeanist, having lived and played all over Europe in the late 1960's and 70's.
My idea, and it's quite loose still, is for each European nation state (and perceived nation states) to collaborate and record and perform/film a piece of music - my initial thoughts are for perhaps 4/6 people, who would generate the musical idea/format/project direction and then using Amazee and other web technologies bring the project to fruition. I don't anticipate the musicians meeting, musically, until performance rehearsals as it seems fun to do the whole project on the web and illustrate that you can deliver human interaction using the 'cloud'.
So in the first instance I would like to open a dialogue with some people who are interested in helping me (I don't anticipate it being 'my' project) develop the idea, musical direction and project corner/milestones.
This is not a classical music project...
