Kitty Gifford’s project,
CamClickr, is calling for people to help with a large ornithological project of
Cornell Lab of Ornithology. The laboratory has thousands of images of birds, particularly during breeding season, which need to be tagged so that they can be added to the public database and used by scientists and lay people alike.
So, whether you fancy yourself as a secret bird watcher or just want to pass a bit of time doing something altruistic and useful, join this project and start tagging. Your role has two levels:
Level One - you to drag and drop images into albums, according to certain criteria – e.g. nests, adult bird, etc.
Level Two – (after you have done 99 images on level one) you sort images according to more complex predetermined criteria. The idea here is that five people will sort each image, so that quality is maintained – truly the ‘Wisdom of the Crowds’.
