We, the friends of Mission Moonbear, are making this pledge to help feed and care for our one special Moonbear for the next 12 months at Animals Asia Foundation Chengdu China. This is our 4TH fundraiser with the 3 previous ones being hugely successful in "adopting" Mandela and the blind moonbears Mityan and Watermelon.
By helping care for these special needs bears who are in the throws of recovering from years of torturous bile farming, it helps free up other funds coming to AAF that they desperately need as well to help do the actual rescue projects and close down the bile farms

We will be choosing our moonbear from one of the most recent rescues that AAF has done. The staff has been extremely generous in letting our Mission Moonbear community decide who we want to sponsor. Eventually I hope we can sponsor them ALL!!

Mission Moonbear is a continuation of my efforts through PROJECT PANDA
to show that we can all make a huge difference in the lives of others..animals
and humans alike, if we work as a community or family for the same cause.
As the economy worldwide struggles, the generosity and kindness
of so many on this planet keeps growing. It seems the smaller our spare
change jar gets, the more we still want to give....albeit some times its nearly
impossible to feel we are making a dent for the charity we try to champion.
Just as in the very successful joint efforts of my
Panda Cub Adoption Tribes following the devistation at the Wolong Panda Center
in China, MISSION MOONBEAR is intended to offer the opportunity to sponsor
a rescued bile farm Moonbear by pooling our change jars and resources
The rescue stories are heartbreaking, but a future for endangered Moonbears living
free from pain and suffering is so promising thanks to Animals Asia. I made the
choice to not attempt to hurt the hearts of those who want to help in this
cause by posting the images that kept me crying for weeks when I visited
the Moonbear Rescue in Chengdu. I am done crying....it’s time to act!

I want everyone to feel empowered we can do this . There are very few
moonbear programs here in the U.S. and I am out to show the world we
truly truly care about this gentle little moonbear and his future on our planet.

Our new puppy Gracie has found a very clever way to recycle water when she can’t hold it in her cheeks..you see she’s teething BEARY much and has a temporary “dribble lip”

We are back from our trip to the panda and moonbear centers in China as well as a wonderful warm side trip in Thailand and I have so much to tell I hardly know where to start. If you have been following along on my blog at http://graffitigossip.com you know all about the panda I chose for our next group adoption via PANDAS INTERNATIONAL….a stunning (formerly) wild panda named Bai Xue

I chose Bai Xue for her unmistakable black “beauty mark” on her muzzle and her history of being a wild child, as she was the panda who disappeared from the panda center she was at for 5 years, then miraculously returned!! Just one look at her Bifengxia clay dipped bum and you know this girl marches to the beat of a different drummer. How endearing can one panda get….and to top it off she is a wonderful mommy at the age or 20 years it is estimated

Regardless of how you choose to pay, each of the contributors will be receiving a downloadable panda artwork I designed just for our group with a value of 45.00. You may print this artwork as cards or a make a framed print for your own use ,as a thank you from me for your generosity and caring .
This very special panda art design will not be sold anywhere at any time, so it will be a collectors item. I will reveal the design as soon as our adoption is finalized.

My dream is to continue to be able to provide a way to help others be a part of these unique adoptions of the China pandas by making then affordable for all who wish to participate. By providing a platform at PANDARAZZI where we all can shake down our piggy banks and pool our resources as a team , we all benefit from one anothers involvement in in turn help each panda we sponsor with plentiful bamboo, medications, round the clock TLC by the nannies and keepers. A SUCCESSFUL ADOPTION RENEWAL… Tribe cubs have been Shanghai’d

After a call to renew our Adoption tribe cubs from Carrie at Pandas International, I put out the word and we were able to collect 510.00 from the various adoptees in all 4 tribes to renew one of the cubbies!! In this economy and especially over the holidays , I was THRILLED to say the least that we were able to collect enough for even ONE!!
Thank you so much for your quick response my friends!! The cub I chose to renew was the Wood Tribe cub based on thinking she was still going to stay at Bifengxia while I am visiting China…but lo and behold the entire LOT of Bifengxia cubs…10 of them have been chosen to go to Shanghai for the World Expo. They recently arrived at their new home and are doing great!! See the video and info below. ALL 4 of your cubs are in Shanghai

Ten giant pandas will go to Shanghai, host of the 2010 World Expo, for a year-long display next year, the municipal information office said Thursday.
The pandas, six females and four males, include two twins, said Li Desheng, deputy director of the Wolong National Nature Reserve Administration Bureau.
They were all born in the Ya’an Bifeng Gorge Breeding Base in the southwestern province of Sichuan after the deadly Wenchuan earthquake on May 12 2008, Li said.
The group will fly to Shanghai in a chartered plane early next year, the office said. They will go on display in the Shanghai Zoo in the first half of 2010 and on display in the Shanghai Wildlife Zoo in the second half.
The zoos have built new or renovated existing exhibition areas and established bamboo supply bases to ensure sufficient food for the pandas, said Cai Youming, deputy head of the Shanghai municipal forestry bureau.
Giant pandas, known for being sexually inactive, are among the world’s most endangered animals due to shrinking habitat.
There are about 1,600 giant pandas living in China’s wild, mostly in Sichuan and the northwestern provinces of Shaanxi and Gansu.
China has built 62 giant panda nature reserves that cover 3.2 million hectares and are home to 70 percent of the animals in wild, according to the State Forestry Administration.
