In cooperation with PANDAS INTERNATIONAL and Bifengxia Panda Base in China, and our incredible adoption coordinator Carrie Phillips, I am proud to offer this exciting opportunity to a very special group of individuals (thats you guys…my blog readers!)

We will SHARE in the one year adoption of not only a panda………but a panda you will be meeting on our visit to Bifengxia on February 8, 2010 (7th China time) via this blog. What a perfect way to help this endangered species and be a part of a $500.00 adoption that can be out of reach for many in this economy..AND you are getting a bonus virtual vacation to China and Thailand to boot!!!

Each person donating a minimum of $25.00 USD will receive an adoption certificate from Pandas International and be listed on my website under the adoptions tab at PANDARAZZI MAGAZINE

As she always does, Carrie will be sending us updates as she gets them from the Bifengxia Panda Base
OUR DEADLINE FOR RAISING $500.00 IS MARCH 1, 2010
In the event we go over 500.00 we will apply that towards the same pandas care.

ABOVE IS XIAO HUA ..THE WOOD TRIBE CUB (CHINESE GIVEN NAME IS “YOU YOU”)
After a call to renew our Adoption tribe cubs from Carrie at Pandas International, I put out the word and we were able to collect 510.00 from the various adoptees in all 4 tribes to renew one of the cubbies!! In this economy and especially  over the holidays , I was THRILLED to say the least that we were able to collect enough for even ONE!!
Thank you so much for your quick response  my friends!!  The cub I chose to renew was the Wood Tribe cub based on thinking she was still going to stay at Bifengxia while I am visiting China…but lo and behold the entire LOT of Bifengxia cubs…10 of them have been chosen to go to Shanghai for the World Expo.  They recently arrived at their new home and are doing great!! See the video and info below.  ALL 4 of your cubs are in Shanghai

Ten giant pandas will go to Shanghai, host of the 2010 World Expo, for a year-long display next year, the municipal information office said Thursday.
The pandas, six females and four males, include two twins, said Li Desheng, deputy director of the Wolong National Nature Reserve Administration Bureau.
They were all born in the Ya’an Bifeng Gorge Breeding Base in the southwestern province of Sichuan after the deadly Wenchuan earthquake on May 12 2008, Li said.
The group will fly to Shanghai in a chartered plane early next year, the office said. They will go on display in the Shanghai Zoo in the first half of 2010 and on display in the Shanghai Wildlife Zoo in the second half.
The zoos have built new or renovated existing exhibition areas and established bamboo supply bases to ensure sufficient food for the pandas, said Cai Youming, deputy head of the Shanghai municipal forestry bureau.
Giant pandas, known for being sexually inactive, are among the world’s most endangered animals due to shrinking habitat.
There are about 1,600 giant pandas living in China’s wild, mostly in Sichuan and the northwestern provinces of Shaanxi and Gansu.
China has built 62 giant panda nature reserves that cover 3.2 million hectares and are home to 70 percent of the animals in wild, according to the State Forestry Administration.

Hello panda friends!! I am pleased to announce my newest venture using Ebay to spread the word about Pandas and the wonderful work PANDAS INTERNATIONAL  is doing to protect and educate the public about this precious endangered species!!


Every time you see this banner at the top of any of my EBAY AUCTIONS OR BUY IT NOW ITEMS  (or see the little gold and blue ribbon in the search listings by the title of the item) I will be donating the specified percentage of that sale or auction to PANDAS INTERNATIONAL via the Ebay Giving Works charitible listing program.
Ebay sends my donations to the charities directly through Mission Fish which certainly helps with the bookeeping!  Yippie! That translates to  a lot more time for artwork!!!
Some auctions and Buy it Now items I will donate 10% ( reminding myself I need to eat too..lol) and other items I will be able to offer up to 100% of the sale to this incredible charity.  Again , the amount I am donating will be listed right on that Pandas International banner on the auction listing.


And dont forget about this beauty on Ebay right now!! She closes in a few short hours!!  I will be putting 10% towards the PI donations as well but it will be paid directly at the end of the year as part of my larger donation to PI

I’m not sure how many of my Pandarazzi followers are bead collectors, or jewelry makers, or have friends who would appreciate my travel finds, but if you haven’t been following my GRAFFITI GOSSIP blog, I didnt’ want to leave anyone here out of the loop!!!
This Sunday I am having a LIVE online BEAD AND PENDANT  TRUNK SHOW to raise money to foster another elephant in Chiang Mai Thailand!! I’m so excited I can hardly stand it!  This show is the first of it’s kind that I have done and will be a grand experiment  and I guarantee a lot of fun!!
