The "Amazee works for you" contest in detail

Over the last year we have seen a lot of positive activity on Amazee. And we want to continue to see your projects grow, after all, this activity goes directly into positive change, generated by you. All of us are constantly awed by your dedication and we want to show our appreciation.

So, we are going to award the most active projects on Amazee. Over the course of nine weeks we are going to monitor your projects' activity on Amazee (don't worry, we are not going to store any personal data).

This contains all activity generated from or within the project: members joining, comments made, entries written and such. The contest starts on December 22, 2009 and runs until February, 23, 2010.

Please be aware that all open and partly open projects will enter the contest. Private projects will not enter the projects since there might be a good reason that these are private, and we respect that.

If you run an open project and would not like to enter the contest for whatever reason, please drop our Community Manager Mathias a line at mathias.moeller@amazee.com.

Out of all projects we will then shortlist the ten most active projects. A competent jury – see their portraits on the right – will then select a winner as a result of the overall appearance of the project.

After all, we want your projects to look and feel good – in order to reach your goals, your project should be attractive to as many users as possible.

And here's what you can win: Us. Yes, you can win Amazee staff! We will work for you, according to your needs. The winning project will be awarded three days worth of work time from any Amazee staff member of your choice (or a combination).

Do you need technical assistance with some Website? Choose between Lucas and Michael. Need some texting done? Then Mathias is your man! Gregory is good for all business means, and Dania is our Marketing genius. If it can be done, we will even work non-virtually for you! Just let us know what you need.

All Amazee staff, jury members and all business associates of Amazee are excluded from the activity count and no project in which one of either group is an administrator will take part in the contest.

This past Tuesday our "Amazee works for you" contest entered into its crucial phase – the last week. On February 23rd we will finally know which ten projects on Amazee have been the most active over the course of the last two months. Next week the five members of the contest jury will have to decide which three out of the ten projects shall be the overall winners.

We have initiated this contest to honor the activeness of our users. All of us here at Amazee are constantly inspired by the dedication of the project activists on our platform. To them we would like to pay tribute. Furthermore, we want to support you in working towards the goals that are so dear to you.

Therefore, three of these ten most active projects will, after the jury has spoken, receive free upgrades for one year and the winning project will moreover win three days worth of work from the Amazee team. You see, we are doing what we can so you can reach your goals!

News entry from Feb., 11th, 2010

02/11/2010 05:28pm by Mathias Möller

We have just under two weeks to go until the "Amazee works for you" contest ends. And sure enough it is getting exciting towards the end now. The Top Ten, the candidates which actually will have a chance at winning, are slowly forming. The most active projects can almost be certain to enter the second round, but the lower parts of the Top Ten are nowhere near safety yet!

There is one project, the Bassötthaus, which is newly in second place. This one is all about redefining design. At number One there's still the sozial-ökologische Restaurant die Zweite project. It seems like it might indeed be an easy win in the first round for these activists. But even if you made it to the Top Ten with your project, you will still have to enter round two on February 23rd.

From this day on, the five contest jury members will take their time to elect the three winners. The general prizes for these three victors are upgrades for their projects and, for the overall winner, three days worth of work from the Amazee team. If you'd still like to enter the race, you better hurry up!
