The purchase of goods is a decision about products, their price and quality but also about ecologic an social values. Each product you purchase needs to be produced and therefore has ecologic and social impact. By buying the product the consumer approves these production manners. As a matter of fact, consuming in a globalized world means full choice but also full responsibility. You could change the world by selective consumption. Most people usually only go by the price criteria, not because they are indifferent to ecological and social matters, but because the price is the only information available on-site. - Our project aims to provide an Wiki-like internet database, associating to every bar code a product, price and ratings on each, ecological and social compliance. - The user generated content is meant to provide an overview on the following criteria: - Price - Quality - Ecologic sustainability - Social sustainability - Our final goal: Using a mobile phone camera to scan bar codes and get relevant product information on-site of decision making.
