In recent years, there have been a number of projects that aim at reducing the digital divide. From
One Laptop per Child to the global expansion of mobile phone internet providers, the initiatives have done a lot to reduce this gap...
However, a combination of economic and education issues means this gap is still very wide.
Amazee user Glenn Strachan has created the project "
Broadband in Sierra Leone"", which aims at addressing this issue in the city of Freetown, capital of Sierra Leone. The aim is to provide wireless broadband in the city and this first requires research into the countries resources and the requirements of such a venture. We really hope there will be a project magazine soon to help in making this idea more attractive for more people.
Think you could be of use?
Join the project!
