Have you ever seen a bear out in the wilderness? Most likely not, let alone, an exotic, endangered bear like the Moonbear or the Great Panda. These animals have become very rare over the last years, and with so many endangered species, it is man's fault that these particular two types of bears are on the brink of extinction. But, there is a project on Amazee, which wants to help!
It is called
Mission Moonbear and has been founded by our very active member
Sandra Miller. The goal of this project is to raise money for the adoption of bears from captivity. In parts of Asia, most notably China, Moonbears and the Great Panda are held on so-called bile farms.
On these farms bile is extracted from the animal, often in cruel and painful procedures, needless to say that hygiene plays no role in this. The bile, though, is very valuable for the use in traditional Chinese medicine.
The good news: It only costs about 600 US Dollars to liberate one of these poor animals. If you wish to chip in, please check out the
project to see how you can help!
