    We took a look around and realized that there was not a definitive work on Social Media. Maybe it's crazy to think that there could be. But, we decided to create something, so on the first day we did some research and realized that no one had yet tried anything similar. On the second day, we did a survey on social media and got over 600 responses, and that was good. We learned a lot.

    On the third day we tested the concept for the book along with it's table of contents and a couple of sample excerpts. The reviews were stellar, so on the fourth day we did a Dynamic Book Proposal and sent it to several publishers. Within 24 hours three publishers were aggressively asking for more information.

    On the fifth day we finalized our book plan and agreed to publish the book with John Wiley & Sons. (I know these guys well. They've been in business since 1807, published some books by Melville, and have really cool offices in Hoboken, NJ. Hoboken you say? Okay, it's not the Garden of Eden, but it's a happening little hamlet on the west shore of the Hudson. Great restaurants, great view, and the boyhood home of Frank Sinatra ... but I digress.)

    On the sixth day we determined how to make the book and the website (www.thesocialmediabible.com) one cohesive, organic, zen-centric experience. (That'll still take some more time, but it was a great conversation.)

    On the seventh day, lacking any sort of divine authority, omniscience, or mandate, we ventured eastward toward Amazee in search of wisdom ... just a couple of guys who don't claim special expertise, comprehensive Web 2.0 wisdom, or other kinds of super-human social media savvy. But we do believe in the collective wisdom of a community. So here we are.
