This weeks featured user, Mark Seall, has been with us for quite a while. Being an Englishman living and working in Zurich's web scene (currently with a pretty amazee new work project called Offer Me A Trip, check it out!), he is an avid user but at the same time a tough critic. And as web professionals interviewing a web professional, we are excited to hear what he has to say:

Why are you on Amazee?

I came across Amazee when I discovered Web Monday and Startup Camp around one year ago. I’m also a member of several other projects such as the Net Impact Zurich chapter.

Amazee is an excellent tool for managing and taking part in movements that exist on and off the Web at the same time and works particularly well with its clear goals and motivated, action oriented members (not to mention the Amazee team whose enthusiasm seems to boil over in to many of the projects!).

In what way does Amazee help you reach your goals?

As founder of a Zurich based web start-up, networking with other members of the start-up scene is particularly important. Small firms with limited resources need to find smarter ways of doing things and we can definitely be smarter when we can share ideas with each other. Amazee provides an excellent social hub for such networking through Web Monday and the various Web Chuchis. I can think of several ideas and solutions we have implemented in our business which have been directly influenced through sharing and discussion within these groups.

What impact will the Internet have on social action in the future?

To quote Stephen Hawking: "For millions of years, mankind lived just like the animals. Then something happened which unleashed the power of our imagination. We learned to talk and we learned to listen. Speech has allowed the communication of ideas, enabling human beings to work together to build the impossible. Mankind's greatest achievements have come about by talking, and its greatest failures by not talking. It doesn't have to be like this. Our greatest hopes could become reality in the future. With the technology at our disposal, the possibilities are unbounded. All we need to do is make sure we keep talking." The Internet allows us to talk more than ever before. Combine this with organization powered by social tools such as Amazee and we have an exciting future to look forward to!
