Once more we are posing the three questions to one of our team members: Michael Schmid is our youngest, and the newest addition to the squad. He works on the Tech side of Amazee and has already brought a lot of fresh ideas to the office.

Why are you working for Amazee?

My first career aspiration was to become a fighter jet pilot. That didn't work out as planned, so I started looking for new challenges in computing. After I had gone through a lot of job offers, I was kind of disappointed, since nothing seemed challenging enough.

This was when I noticed that a Startup might be just what I'm looking for. And if this could be Amazee, it would be a perfect combination. I have known Amazee and the team for quite a while, everybody seemed to be really sympathetic – even though we had not met very often.

Towards the end of 2009 I started as an intern, but soon I got employed full-time. I like working on Amazee every day, I enjoy having to give my best and the fact that I have to and can rely on everybody.

I also like the fact that in a Startup and especially in Amazee the individuals are important. I can say that the job with Amazee is something I have been looking for for a long time. It is more than a job, it is the challenge of a lifetime with a great new family.

In what ways do you see change happen through Amazee?

Since I am pursuing ambitious and hard-to-reach goals in my life, I know how important it is to have supporters. And Amazee provides these supporters: it enables every person to publish her projects and goals in life and helps to find like-minded people, supporters or maybe even competitors.

As a result, people are more focussed on their own projects. Thus, I think, we will see more projects in the future of which we do not even dare to dream about today.

What impact will the Internet have on social action in the future?

The Internet changes all of society; we communicate differently, we behave differently when it comes to our private life and many other aspects. Unfortunately, not all people have understood, and exactly these people are in important positions in governments or corporations. Thus, I still view the Internet as revolutionary.

Everybody says that they use the Internet and have understood it, but when once more dead trees are printed upon with ink, I ask myself if they really did. But it is only a question of time, until this problem will be solved.

It is going to be very exciting to see what will happen in the future. The Internet as well as society constantly changes, one just has to open her eyes and start to participate!
